Any thoughts on this program? (UVA Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medical Program / UVA Post Bacc / UVA PBPM)

1. Very few or no undergrads from UVA in this program.

2. Only has two linkages, not even a linkages to UVA’s own medical school.
One is to Pitt, which offers linkages to many different post bac programs and allows one to bypass the MCAT starting 2026, requiring 517 on the MCAT (their median for traditional applicants is 516)
The other is to Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Even if someone isn't looking to link, I believe the number and quality of a school's linkage opportunities is a proxy for how well-regarded the program is among admissions officers.

They offer MCAT prep in the form of a UWorld 180-day voucher or discount code for 360-day.

The post baccs at Northwestern and Columbia offer linkages to their respective medical schools although one would still need to attain qualifications (MCAT) on par with their normal admitted class. UVA does not give you the option.

3. Program is offered through school of continuing and professional studies which is the self funding division which offers part time courses for working professionals and career seminars. In state tuition.

4. Biology, biochemistry, and physics lecture are large undergrad style courses.

5. As a large school, it may be easier to get accommodations if one has special learning needs.

I haven’t seen anyone who’s been accepted to Goucher or Bryn Mawr choose uva. Personally, I’d stay away from UVA, Scripps, Columbia. I wouldn’t want to take any courses with undergrads. Id want to attend small programs focused solely on post baccs with many linkages. That criteria includes Bryn Mawr, Goucher, GWU, Jefferson.
