Hey I have some questions regarding uveitis as a subspecialty in ophthalmology. I know one will be trained for diagnosing and treating inflammatory conditions, but are there any specialty surgical training? Do uveitis subspecialists do any surgery? By observation alone I see it is common for uveitis specialists to also have done training in retina or other fields - is there a reason for this other than getting more experience in retinal inflammatory disease or otherwise?

Inflammation can be in the anterior segment or posterior segment. That is why you'll see uveitis specialist trained in Cornea/External diseases or Retina. Not a lot of surgery specific for uveitis. Intravitreal implants would be one. Maybe advanced uveitic cataracts, but anyone can do it if they are comfortable with challenging cases.
