I asked in the pre-pt forum but haven't gotten any response.

How competitive is admission to the University of Vermont program. It is by far my first choice for logistical reasons but I am having trouble finding any information about it. Tuition seems high for a public school and there are no interviews or observation hours so what do they base admissions decisions on? Is it test score only?

Also, for anyone attending, how is the program?

Sorry you haven't recevied a response. If I were you, I would go visit the campus. Arrange a tour with the admission advisor or a faculty member. That way you could ask some of the current students questions about the program. I did that at Nova SE. They didn't offer me an interview, but I took a tour with an employee, and I was fortunate to talk with two students there preparing for finals. At least go to Vermont and tour the campus.

It does concern me that they don't require any volunteer hours, however. Definitely seek other graduates of the program before accepting an offer there.

Thanks for responding.

I have spent plenty of time on the campus (I'm from the area and considered it for my undergrad) but have not had a chance to tour the PT program yet. I am hoping to do so this summer.

The lack of a requirement for observation hours surprised me as did the lack of interviews (I called and spoke with someone in the department briefly, she said they don't do them at all). The program is accredited and seems to be producing successful grads but I can't find much information on it or any real mention of it anywhere.
