I know there are not a lot of people on the board applying to UW but for those of you that have, what's your status? There hasn't been any new info since 2 acceptances on FEB 23, congrats again. I believe we've established interviews were complete and today after my biochem test I went to talk to Kathy. She wasn't there, but the secretary told me that the adcom met again yesterday and are still tying up this cycle. No phone call yesterday, so i guess i'll be checking the mail this weekend, AGAIN :scared: . Has anyone who interviewed been rejected yet?

Good luck dude, sounds like the class is pretty much complete. Hopefully you'll round it off. The BC test was a lot easier than i thought it was going to be. No more Biochem tests ever again!!

I think they had the last meeting yesterday so you should probably find out one way or another pretty soon. Best of luck to you, hope to see you at the BBQ May 13th!!

Thanks a lot. We all know that Kathy gives you "the call" so i dont plan on getting the good news, but maybe the alternate list for me. I guess we'll just see. I got my ap out late, plus i'll enjoy the year off if thats my fate 😀

HAHA, so i take it you're not taking the fourth exam. This exam was mos def the easiest of the entire freek'n series. I have a theory that everyone who has done well on the first three exams should take the fourth and bomb it on purpose. With how the grades are calculated we get to drop the grade, but it will still lower the normalized mean for the entire quarter, thus improving our grade as it is now. What do ya think?

p.s. I got the sad news this evening via AADSAS. Thanks for all the encouragement. When I didnt recieve the magic phone call yesterday i kinda figured. There are circumstances that keep me in Seattle next year that only allowed me to apply to UW this cycle. So here's to hoping for the best next cycle as I do the national thing (of course UW is still #1 😀 ). Maybe if i get in as part of c/o 2011 you'll be my 2nd year mentor 🙄 Congrats again and good luck next fall.

Sorry about the bad news 🙁 I wish you the best of luck for the next cycle and enjoy your year off!

I am waitlisted for this cycle at UW.

Anyone know the chances of getting in off of the waitlist?

Also, since I haven't been accepted any where yet, I'm preparing to reapply for next cycle. Do I have to obtain all new letters of recommendation, or can I use letters from the same people? Also, should I retake the DAT? My scores were pretty solid, but I want to make sure I get in next time around. AA 22, TS 21, PAT 22.

hey, i haven't been rejected yet, but i have a feeling it's coming, since i interviewed in december... it's ok though - it looks like i'll be spending the next four years in the city of angels. let me know when you hear, though, cause i'm anxious to find out either way and be settled already, ya know? good luck 👍

Hi there,

No need to retake the DAT. They are really GOOD, trust me. especially the PAT section. Great job!
Also, if you're from around the Seattle area, you should come and talk w/ Dr. Steiner and ask him how you could improve your application for next year. Or ask Kathy for that matter but Dr. Steiner is really nice and I am sure he could give you some sound advice on improving your chances. Best of luck! 🙂
btw, when did you apply? That could also be why you were put on the waitlist since UW application cycle closes fairly early.

just checked aadsas - i'm wait listed, too. does anyone know if the waitlist moves at all? i'd imagine that very few people turn down an acceptance from UW. well it looks like i'm definitely staying in socal now, and i can start planning for the fall... although it would have been awesome to be back in the northwest! congrats to everyone who got in! 👍

Typically most individuals on the wait list don't get a magical phone call, but situations can and do arise (typically during the summer) that prevent a student from matriculating. If you were accepted at a different school I'd plan on going there, otherwise just sit tight and work at improving your application for the next cycle.
