just wanted to let the UW hopefuls know that according to kathy craig (admissions officer for uw) the number of applications went up by 40%!!! for last year's cycle, they were going to increase the number of interviews since the number of applicants went up. this year, they're deciding to decrease the number of interview invites despite the ginormous increase in applications.

oh, and one more thing, there is no preference for WICHE states any more (really good for washington state res)!

GOOD LUCK everyone!

I don't know if I believe that last part. I know two guys that are from idaho that have interviews and they have lower stats than a guy I know from washington who hasn't got an interview yet.

it's what i was told during the interview.

I guess decreasing the number of interview invites is a good thing if you got an interview there already. The UW is a school that seems to choose students based on factors beyond scores. At least that's the impression that I got.

Oh right on. Hey if that's what they told you in the interview then I'd believe that. I just thought you were saying that you heard that form someone who worked in the admissions office or something. My bad.
