I was just about to post and ask about this. It ticks me off a bit because I was keeping my own averages so that I could chart my progress over time (something UWorld doesn't show you), and now the earlier blocks (50) and the new ones (48) are weighted differently. 🙄 I guess I'll have to spend a couple more minutes with Excel.
I also noticed that they added the option to "redo" a test... it's on the test list page - where it used to have only analysis and review now it includes "redo." I have no idea what that actually means since I haven't tried it. Does it replace your original score? Is it just like doing a set of used questions except that you can do those specific used questions?
Which brings up another question that has been bugging me... is the "average average" (i.e., the average score of all students using UWorld) only unused timed questions, or does it include all of the retakes, untimed, andsubject specific blocks that people do? If I do a block of previously used questions and score really high, it certainly goes into my personal average on UWorld. If it counts for the "average average" that UWorld reports, then it is certainly higher than the true random/unused/timed national average.
