UW vs Rx

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
USMLE is ok...nothing special. Their questions are mostly 1 step and NOT very integrative at all. Although it is good if you study from first aid and want to test if you remembered the first aid facts. However, I find the behavioral section of USMLERx and their histology questions helpful. It's cheap, $59 a month. So I go for it if you have time.

UW = I tried it out and it's nice! I like the questions, I wish it was a bit harder. But UW is nice.

sorry if this is a repeat ?......ive finished uworld and done 50% of qbank and hate it.....would you guys recommend sticking to qbank or trying out usmlerx to hammer in points from FA....i still have about three weeks.....thanks!

hammering FA into head is best done by sitting down and memorizing like crazy. usmlerx won't teach you anything new or push your limits. i learned a lot from qbank eventhough it was annoying at times. you have a lot of time - you'll be done with qbank soon. for that last week you can maybe think about usmlerx.

i have to disagree with a lot of you on Rx. It is true that it's made by the same people, but the questions do go beyond the superficial facts presented in the book. I haven't tried USMLE world or Qbank yet, but so far, Rx has been pretty helpful. I'm gonna start world in a few days.

just keep in mind that most people who posted here have actually tried all three. i have a feeling your opinion will change after you start the real deal.

People seem to think Rx is too easy, but IMO those are people who are scoring 235+ and getting 85-100% right on Rx. I think USMLErx is very helpful in nailing down the most high yield facts, something that UW and Qbank don't do as well, UW because it emphasizes more problem solving, and Qbank because it contains more low yield material. If you are scoring anywhere from failing to 220s or so in NBMEs, check out Rx, the questions go by quicker and have pages from FA in many of the questions so you don't waste time flipping through it. Just my 2 cents.

FA - The integration with FA is great. Doing the questions, and adding notes into the text as you go is a nice way to aid on to the basic skeletal structure of the book. Well rounded, appropriately challenging.

USMLE World - The level of difficulty to the questions is really great for those going for a top score. I don't think its as comprehensive, but the questions are high quality, integrated. For those that learn from and are motivated by really being challenged, USMLE World is the way to go.

If you're really trying to be a top scorer, you probably want both anyway. 'Cause you be crazy like that.

This is just my opinion, but there actually seems to be a fair amount of consensus on this.

donot forget UW
raised my score at NBME from 184 to 214 in 2 month
i have 3 weeks left to real exam.
DOES IT WORTH SPEND AN OTHER MONTH OR SO TO TRY GET BETTER SCORE?

Have you tried doing most of the questions from usmleRX, blz? I've done a lot of questions from it, and I'm convinced that they have a lot of questions that go beyond FA. I say around at least 10-15% of the questions.

Secondly, these questions are mostly 2-step questions, not 1-step like the previous poster mentioned.

anyone have similar thoughts?

i am a question-aholic....it's how i learn, i did usemlworld, im at 75% of qbank and still going through a little everyday, started robbins ?s last week and am pretty much done (i love them), and i caved and subscribed to usmlerx......theyre not great but it is making sure i know the FA facts and it gets me to review random things from there as i do it.....just wish it wasnt so slow!!!!! not the greatest, but worth the 60 dollars.
