So I did a block of questions and it seems like a question contradicts a previous explanation. QID# 1383 seems to contradict QID# 983. Question 1383 is asking about thyroid hormone receptor signaling but then gives an explanation as to the mechanism that seems to contradict what is in Question 983. 983 says that thyroid hormone has a nuclear receptor but 1383 is saying that there is a transmembrane receptor involved. Basically, I'm a little confused and would appreciate somebody clarifying. Thanks 🙂

If I'm not mistaken, there's a transmembrane receptor that is involved in endocytosis of the hormone so that it can enter the cell and bind to the nuclear receptor.

Wikipedia says that there are 10 different known membrane iodothyronine transporters. Of course, the hormone can diffuse through the membrane, but apparently these transporters are there to help.

No contradiction. One is asking about the thyroid hormone receptor (intranuclear receptor) and the other is asking about the TSH receptor (a transmembrane receptor that works through cAMP)

WOW! Totally read over that (I seem to do this a lot on the first question of each block). Thanks a ton 😀
