What is the deal with the murmur sounds in Uworld ?? The quality is HORRIBLE , i cant get a single one right if there is no info on the stem ... I had no problem like this in the kaplan q bank .. Are the sounds like that on the real Step 1???

Yes , the ''murmur'' just sounds like a louder S1 or S2 , I always listen to the corresponding murmur on a phone murmur app and its completely different...

on step 1 you don't hit play; you choose which valve area you want to listen to on an interactive graphic of a patient. there were a few of them on my exam. don't neglect them.

You don't need to be able to identify the murmur on audio to solve the question. There are enough clues in the question to give you the diagnosis, the audio is just for confirmation.

What I do when reviewing a wrong question (or even a right question for that matter), is figure out the diagnosis and explanation and THEN listen to the audio. That way I can figure out the question and review what a certain murmur sounds like at the same time.
