are they particularly high yield vs. 400 of regular UWorld questions? I bought both as the package but I don't have the time to do both of them and finish UWorld.
I personally used them as 200ish extra questions each, they do give you a "report card" to show what your weak on, which is nice, but the score they give you is inflated by 20+ points. I also liked how it felt like a real exam. And When I took Step 1 it felt exactly like taking one of the UWorld exams.
Score might be inflated, but in general is just less precise altogether. On the other hand, I've been told by many classmates this year that the UWSA was equivalent in style and difficulty (but not substance) to the real deal.
Still think a higher n value of doing more NBMEs is more valuable, and more precise.
Thanks for all your replies but just to clarify, the UWSA feels like just 4 blocks of regular UWorld bank questions, right? It is not especially like NBME/real exams, etc.
The explanations seemed less thorough than typical Uworld questions. They're okay early in step 1 studying because they're cheap, but use them cautiously because they overestimate scores and give a false sense of confidence. If you have limited time 4 blocks of qs is probably a better use of your time due to the better explanations.
