Uworld simulation exams

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Not very predictive (depends on who you ask, though). I treated them like 200 extra UWorld quality questions. They're only like $30 if you buy them with your UWorld subscription, so why not get them

USWA1 overpredicts, but just by a bit. No more than 10 pts I'd say. But for some people they are dead on.

USWA2....well this one can over predict by an enormous amount. I've seen one person for whom it overpredicted by 30 points. For others though, it can be dead on.

They definitely dont underpredict though, so if you get a low score, don't blame it on the test.

the questions are in general easier that the standard UW questions, but that is because they try to make it like NBME, which has easier questions as well.

So yeah, if you want 200 more questions to practice with, get these. If you want to predict your score, nbme all the way.

How predictive are these? And what are peoples' thoughts on them in general?

They generally overpredict as chaotic said. My thought is that they are not that useful if you are strapped for time; why not do an NBME if you have time to do a UWSA.

Yeah, definitely second this (third?) I took UWSA1 and an NBME three days apart: Exactly a 20 point difference between the two.

This makes me feel a lot better. I took SA1 before I started my dedicated study time and NBME 11 1.5 weeks later (after getting about halfway through the material) and got exactly the same score. So if I improved 20 points, I call that a win.
