vacation and step 1 date

So - our school gives us 7 weeks between the end of second year basic science finals and the beginning of third year rotations. I want to go on vacation within this time period, but the only week my boyfriend has free is week 2 out of 7 in that period. I've been thinking about studying for one week, going on vacation the second week, studying for weeks 3-7, and then taking the test in that seventh week.

Is this a terrible idea? Has anybody else out there broken up step 1 studying with a vacation? I'm worried that I won't be able to relax with my test date looming, and also worried that all of the studying I did for my year 2 finals will slip away while I'm on vacation.

With six weeks total, including 5 straight, this should be fine. The benefit for your sanity might even outweigh the cost of the lost week.
