How is the vacation time for pharmacists?

For all that hard work I'm guessing that they get a fairly decent amount of off days. Ive been told that the best option for this is working for the PHS, but what do you guys think?

thanks

Oh and I searched but the one thread that I found was pretty old and the answers were pretty brief

A whopping 2 weeks 😴

And 24 hours of PTO.

I miss my pharmacy school days. Days when I complained when spring break/winter break wasn't enough. :wtf:

I get about 8 hours of PTO per pay period right now, I think it goes up after 3 years of service. We can accrue up to 270 hours. I have no complaints.

I have found most retail pharmacies are the same. You start off with two weeks after six months or a year. After 5 years you move up to 3 weeks then you get 4 weeks around the 8 to 10 years mark. After that you get 5 weeks somewhere in the 15 to 20 year mark.

The problem in retail is not getting the vacation. Its getting to use the vacation when you want to. Thanksgiving to January 2nd is usually blacked out. The rest of the holidays only a few pwople are allowed vacation so it goes to the most senior people. Of course everyone with kids wants vacation at the same times to match up with school being out. If you want a vacation in February or October its usually no problem.

39 days PTO: includes vacation, holidays, floating holidays, and the week of Christmas.

Academia rules!!

That does sound nice actually, is the pay the same?

some places give you extra time off for taking call or for getting called in. i've known some people to build HEFTY banks of PTO from this type of scheme.
