Hey guys,

New member here. I was curious to see if anyone knew if California Pharmacists/Pharm students had any restrictions on vaccinations we can give? For example, can we give ANY vaccination (i.e. Japanese Encephalitis)?

I was also curious to see if we are able to do tb test injections?

I already checked out the Board of Pharmacy website but can't seem to find any law specifying (plus they haven't responded to me emails). Any information would be great. Thanks!

We can give any immunization allowed by the protocol we are working under. TB tests are not immunizations and are not CLIA waived tests. That leads me to believe we can't do them unless authorized under a prescriber's protocol. It's not within my area of expertise, but I've not seen a pharmacist administer or read the test, even at the travel clinic that we ran at USC.
