A sort of POEM 🙂🙂 I wrote a few years ago in afaan Oromo (Oromia, Part of Ethiopia), in 1995, if memory serves. when I was stranded in my first love at my high school , when I was a love novice and a lot angrier about falling in love with a girl, now when I think back, it was a Valentine's Day. I don't really feel angry about it anymore, but back then. Anyways, I'm not lonely on valentine's day anymore, so it's mostly kind of funny. the poem itself is pretty wack, but it's got high sentimental value for me, which I guess is why it's one of the few things I wrote then that I've still hung on to.
Now I decided to translet in to English, so that I can share my diary to as many people as I want to. That is why I have this diary on our Studentdoctor forum.. And this guy, who majore his study in Literature helped me out editing my translation. If I have a chance to contest for a love poem on this valentine's day, I would be reading this, my valentin'e day love diary. I decided to post today, on this day for my studentdoctors or the wanna be' s out there, to get my 2 cents heard..lol. Here, I wrote it, read it, and I hope you guys will like it.. I kind of edited last night, again, just adding some memories, I barely slept through the night, eager to share my diary🙂

candy hearts
I wonder when she began to realize otherwise
But she knows otherwise now
And I know what she's thinking of each time we're kind of fight
And she starts her sweet gesture
And takes aim with her question marks
So
Anyone special in your life
I say no mom
Any girlfriends
I answer no mom
Oh, okay
I just had to ask I just had to ask , she says
There was only one day
When all this could have started
Although there was so much else along the way
But forget high school love
Where love is just one more word
To memorize before recess
No matter how much trouble the teacher has defining it
Forget college and university
where friends are too busy with girlfriends
To spend time with the sweet sweet valentine's baby
Shaking wet tongue-ramming french dog kisses
Yummy so yummy
Like red lips like candy
So this year I'm not lonely
I have bought boxes of candy hearts
And read the disyllables aloud
To throw the little hearts with aim and intent
At the lips of the valentine
Praying to hit
Hoping to connect
Hot stuff Love bug
We say loud,
Hug me Call me
Be mine Be true
Be good Dream girl
Bad boy Say yes
Yes dear Sure love
Oh boy
Kiss me
No way
Once before I gave my candy heart away
She took it and smiled sweetly
As it slid in pieces down her throat
