i have kaplan qbank plus, uw, and usmle rx

i am getting rid of rx due to time? and going to use qbank to study initially and then world toward the exam. is this a good strategy?

many poeple are ignoring qbank completely?

how does the new qbank physio and integrated vignette sections compare to the regular qbank, world, and usmle rx?

i am asking because i can actually still get refund on plus, and repurchase regular qbank for shorter duration, but do not want to if any students have anecdotal or heard anything about the 600 extra physio questions or 1257 extra Intgrated vignette questions.

if somehow miracle, i finish qbank once, and u world once, what is most valuble next step

qbank again?
world again?
rx first time?
or kaplan physio or IV sections?

thank you

Having gone through both, I personally like Rx better, but I'm sure there are plenty who would disagree with me. I thought it was good at solidifying FA.

Not sure how many people ignore q bank. I know of a number of people who solely did UW and that's it in terms of questions. Personal preference and how questions fit into your learning style. For me, I got a lot more out of trying to think through questions than reading FA over for the 97th time. Others do better by continually reading and memorizing. Depends on the person.

Physio q bank I thought was off the wall difficult. Way harder than actual questions. IV was OK. Didn't make it through the whole thing. Not as good as the traditional banks in my opinion.

As for your next step assuming you finished both world and kaplan, I would say it depends on the amount of time remaining and how well you did. If you did well on them the first time through, you're not going to get a lot out of doing the same questions again, especially since you've done them recently. You're going to remember the correct answers for the wrong reasons. If that's the case, I'd suggest moving on to Rx. If on the other hand, you did poorly the first time through the banks, then it might be in your best interest to do them again to make sure you retained the information after reviewing. Finally, if you're short on time like it sounds like you might, just doing blocks of questions you got incorrect may be best to test your retention.

I'm amazed at the amount of people who swear by Kaplan Qbank and USMLEWorld simply because someone told them they're "the best". Most popular right now, but not "the best", or the cheapest.

that brings up the question of other banks

like why if you read the intro of goljans book

he swears by usmle consult, saying they are the most similiar and that they are for quizzing his book and so forth, with discount coupon included with eveyr goljan book you buy

i dont understand why even though so many people swear by goljan, why usmle consult is not talked about more

or why it gets B+ in first aid

there was one guy on here i remember a year ago, who said his exam was a copy of usmleconsult, but that was the last time i heard about it. one guy.

Ideally you should use the less known qbank from first year, and usmleworld during step prep. But if you are like me who didnt use qbanks till halfway through second year you only have time for a couple of them so you go with the most recommended ones; uworld, rx and kaplan qbank.

without a doubt, uworld is the best. I would have to choose usmlerx as second and kaplan qbank as a distant third. usmlerx has some really unique questions and I think that its more than just solidyfing the first aid. Kaplan on the other hand is outright ridiculous--it seems to ask more obscure and esoteric questions that rely heavily on the "knowing" more than the "understanding".

Maybe Im just bitter because my score was lowest in kaplan...who knows
