Vanderbilt neuro

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I was talking to a classmate of mine who spent some time down there and had nothing but positives to say about the program. Good, collegial residents, approachable faculty, and great logistics/infrastructure. The one thing she did state was that compared to our medical school (which has lots of indigent patients/only Level 1 trauma center/tertiary referral center within a 200 mile radius), there were fewer indigent patients (from her perspective) and their "associated" pathology. I guess perhaps those patients are spread out more around the area hospitals. But, she did see several zebras so perhaps it all evened out.

Just wanted to bump this topic and see if anyone else has input. I'm applying for away rotations right now and am really interested in Vanderbilt.

I interviewed there for residency two years ago and have nothing but good things to say. Their resources are amazing, the faculty seemed approachable and very congenial, and the residents seemed very happy. In the end, I ranked my current residency higher than Vanderbilt for geographic reasons only--there was literally no other fault that I could find. Based on my 1 day impression, I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested.
