i was just recently accepted to VCOM-CC and was wondering what the reputation of the professors was like amongst the students because after the interview and researching on my own i still haven't been able to find much on how well the professors teach or how good they are with open door policy...any help would be great

Among the many many professors we have, I'd say that only 2, mayyyybe 3, are disliked by our student body. Mostly due to their teaching methods or the way they write their questions. Those 3 will still open their doors and do their best to help you. Overall, and I mean the vast majority of them, our professors are awesome and will bend over backwards to help the students succeed, whether that's on a personal basis or the class as a whole. They'll offer to come in on saturdays and sundays before exams to review important concepts. They schedule evening sessions for clarifying difficult concepts taught earlier in the day. A couple of weeks ago I was studying at Panera and saw one of our clinical faculty come in with his family. I don't know him that well but have talked to him a few times in lab. He saw me and after ordering his food he came over and sat down with me for about 10 minutes seeing how things were going and offering encouragement. Our school isn't perfect, I doubt any school is, but our professors are top notch.

Congrats on the acceptance! This is a great place to be.

thanks for the comment, i appreciate it...do you like the integrated curriculum there? it seems like it would be nice to just cover 2 systems at a time but i obviously i have no idea what medical students prefer (traditional vs. integrated) so any advice on the curriculum would be great

Many of the students are extremely disappointed with the quality of the VCOM-CC faculty. Some of them were actually fired while others quit. The above student is pretty positive about everything, but they are known to have far more board failures than the Virginia campus. This is concerning, since the Virginia campus had almost 7% failures on first attempts at COMLEX 1.
