"A “C” is the minimum needed for all required courses. However, a "B" or better is generally needed for acceptance." - VCOM website

To anyone who can give me an accurate response, I made a C in Organic Chemistry I. It is my only C on my transcript - never had any grade less that as well. Will that "C" really be that detrimental to my application to this school? Should I even try? Does VCOM hold steadfast to B's only to get in or does anyone have a better experience to answer these questions?

UPDATE: I originally posted this in a school specific thread, but after a day, I had no responses (nor had anyone commented after me either). I am just trying to get this question in a more high traffic area.

Following, as I'm also interested in this. However, this is a question that should be directed to VCOM directly.
My understanding is that a "C" is not completely detrimental to your application. As long as you can explain why you made the "C" and show an upward GPA trend since, you should be fine assuming you're a competitive applicant.

No one will ever really be able to give you a clear answer to this. Not even the school if you call them. You’ll be able to find anecdotes of people with a C getting rejected and with 10 Cs getting accepted if you search long and hard enough. This process is stupidly random.

Just apply. You might not get an interview if you apply, but you definitely won’t if you don’t apply.

Just saying, I've heard VCOM is a school that places much more weight on GPA than it does MCAT. Your mileage may very. I will say that I applied there with a low GPA/high MCAT and didn't get an interview at all.

My GPA is at their average, but it does include that one C which is why I am concerned.
