Vcu cert 2010-2011

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hi everybody. Congratulations to all of you that have gotten accepted to VCU CERT! I've been accepted into the program as well and have begun to look for housing options. I'm really hoping I can avoid bringing my car and just live within walking distance of MCV and a market. I've been looking for single unit options, but those options aren't looking too great. If you're looking for a roommate in a walking distance neighborhood to our future classes, please let me know.

*edit* demographics: 25 y/o asian male from Oregon, undergrad in Los Angeles.

I graduated from the 2009 CERT and am doing the Master's in Biochem while I apply. I'm looking for a roommate for a three person row house in the Museum District. It's right on the bus route for the MCV campus, and it's about 15 minutes by car. Rent is $500/month + utilities, you can PM me if you are interested.

less than a month until it starts for the year... everyone ready?

hey guys, is anyone getting any books for the classes? are there some that are recommended more highly than others?

I'd second Linda Costanzo "Physiology" that or BRS physiology (also written by linda costanzo). BRS is shorter and is for USMLE step 1 review but is a great book to review before the tests because Dr Costanzo used to teach the physiology course at VCU. I'd recommend getting either the 3rd or 4th edition from Amazon used.

In terms of biochem, I think you may have to bite the bullet and buy the book. I'd wait until classes start to get that one thought.

Anyone else applying to the program right now? Anyone that has finished the program, do you remember how long it took from the point of submitting the application to acceptance?

Way to necropost, creeper. Just kidding, though, I'm applying now (still waiting for all of my supplementary materials to arrive).

Haha, yea I hate to bump such an ancient thread. Send me a message or something when you hear from them. I've been complete (I think) since Feb. 1 and am hoping to hear back soon.

Wait, just looked at your MDapps profile, why the hell are you doing an SMP? You have a great MCAT, GPA and ECs.

Haha, yeah I wish you were on a couple of the admissions committees 😉 I actually went 0/21 on interviews (though 7/21 have not formally rejected me yet).

See this thread: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=797991

So, I've decided I'd like to keep busy this year and hopefully do a little bit of research while I apply again.
