From my understanding, there are two application cycles at VCU. Should I be applying before a certain date in order to make the 1st cycle or is this based on GPA/DAT and those with low scores get rolled over to the 2nd cycle?

I'm currently working on my personal statement, getting ready to ask for LOR's, and I'm thinking that I can study for about 4 weeks after school ends in May and take the DAT in early June? Does this sound like a good action plan?

I'm actually already excited yet stressed by thinking about the whole process! Any tips would be great! 😀

Do you live in Richmond?

VCU's dental club have weekly meetings and they go over the application cycle and everything that you need to do to stay on point. Plus, they have speakers from VCU school of dentistry/admissions committee, they give great advice to students.

Another good thing, if you have free time, you should schedule a meeting with Dr. Healy.

Good luck to ya.

My $0.02...

If you're a young applicant (a year or two out of school included) and in-state, you'll get an interview with average scores and grades. However the interview has good weight to it, it is important to come across as easy-going and happy.

Cyrus, do you have any information about VCU as far as accepting students without a bachelors degree? I am thinking about applying with 95 credits, do you think applying to VCU with that amount of credits is enough?

you haven't asked for your LORs yet? Hmm...have fun getting those on time.

I'm using the electronic letters on AADSAS and it won't be available until May 15th, so I can't give my professors anything to fill out since the form is not even available.

Have you checked if your school has a Letter of Evaluation service where they are able to hold several letters of recommendation for you? That might be the better way to go. All I'm saying is that you are going to be frustrated when you keep emailing your professors about your letters and they will write back saying that they are busy and haven't gotten to them yet.

Do you mean the evaluation form provided by pre-health committee works for ADDSAS ..?? Or do we have to go to the letter writers again in may with the evaluation form from ADDSAS site ..??

Profusely confused ...!! 😕

I'm not sure what you are asking, but at my university, there was a service at the career center that allowed me to store my various letters of recommendation. I would just have my evaluators send the letters there, where they would be filed away. Then, when it came time to submit all my aadsas stuff, I simply sent all of the letters that I needed to each school individually, bypassing AADSAS. Some schools don't accept letters this way, so be aware of that. But it worked for me.
