Hi!!
My name is Maria and I will be interviewing at VCU next week. I would really appreciate it if those of you who are currently attending or who have interviewed at VCU could share some useful info about the school.

Even though I've never been to the school, I hear that the dental program is great! I do know that one so-called "prestigious" dental program (UW) uses software developed by VCU to teach dental anatomy. It says a lot about a school if other schools are buying and using their software, etc.

Hey Maria here are some thouhts,

I came here because of the people. They are great. That said the admissions office is going through some changes so don't base your choice soley on the people there.

Here are some Pros:
Great clinical training
First and second year course loads have a nice balance of class and lab work
Someone already mentioned the oral anatomy software which is nice
Helpful faculty from what I've seen so far (1st year)
Newly renovated 1st year class rooms
Great clinics and patient base

Cons:
old pre-clinical labs, no simulation labs
Faculty shortage just like everybody else
I've heard it's not as specialty oriented but they offer all of the specialties in post grad here so whatever
