Hi!!!
My name is Maria, and I will be interviewing at VCU next week. I was told that I would have 1 student interview and 2 faculty interviews, and then a tour of the school. Also, I was told that I would have to write an essay during my interview visit.
If anybody knows more about the interview process at VCU, please contact me. I would love to know more about the school and the chances of being accepted after Dec. 1st.
Also, please let me know about the essay. I was never asked to write an essay during my interviews, and I am concerned about it.
Thank you for your help!!!

I interviewed at VCU November 3rd. It was my very first interview, so I had no idea what to expect. I left feeling very positive about the whole experience, but after visiting other schools, I was a little disappointed in my time at VCU. There was no formal presentation about the school or a presentation on financial aid (although I got one at all of the other schools, so no big deal as far as the financial aid part) and most of the day was disorganized. Also, after seeing other schools' facilities, VCU's are NOT very impressive, although I'm not sure that the facilities should play a huge role in the decision as to where to attend. At this point, I truly believe you should go where you feel the most comfortabe, and surprisingly enough, that is exactly what my interviewer from BU said.

As far as the interviews at VCU--they were very laid back and relaxed. There is no need to get stressed. There was a short, one-page essay--no big deal. Apparently they have different questions, but when I went, we all got the same question (again, due to lack of organization on VCU's part). The question was about manual dexterity--describe how you know you have good manual dexterity skills and how that will help you as a dentist, or something similar to that.

I did feel very comfortable at VCU. The students seemed very happy and there seemed to be a good relationship with the faculty. I wouldn't mind going to VCU at all!!! It's a good school, maybe not for everyone, but I could be happy there. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info!! I hope you get great news from VCU next week!
