It's between The Crowne Plaza and The Marriott. It's kind of hard to tell from Google Earth, but are either one of these (or both?) in a bad area?

The marriott will probably be fine. All of Richmond is a "bad area". The good and bad areas kind of blend here...You probably won't get mugged there.

marriot on broad street? if its that one, its like 3 blocks to the mcv campus and like a couple blocks from there. about 10 minute walk

I stayed at the Commonwealth Park Suites. It's definitely walking distance to the school within approximately seven minutes or less.

Really nice walk, directly across the street from the capitol. The rooms are huge (suites). I'd recommend it overall.

I got in at about 11 pm and asked the people at the hotel if it was safe to be walking around downtown and they said no problem. I'm a guy, btw.

But during the daylight, I'd definitely say it felt very safe for guy or girl. Lots of business people in that area. Enjoy the interview. VERY low stress, really nothing at all to worry about.

anyone gonna be there for november first and wanna split a room the night before ( october 31st)?
