Hi everyone! I was accepted to Radford in January, and I was extremely excited and planned to attend the program. This past Tuesday, I was accepted to VCU. I was shocked and excited because I never thought that I would be accepted into their program. I am having difficulty choosing between these two schools. I know VCU is one of the top schools in the country, but Radford was my #1 when visiting schools for interviews. Since VCU didn't have interviews, I didn't have a chance to see the program.

Can anyone give any insight? I know this is a good problem to be having, but the deposit for VCU is due March 3 (this Friday), so I need to make a decision ASAP.

Thanks!

Hi! I actually applied to both and got accepted to both. I'm going to be attending VCU unless I receive a scholarship from an out of state school. I chose VCU because of the reputation, which isn't everything, the lower price of tuition, and the ability to network better in the city. I liked interviewing at Radford and their facilities are state of the art. I know this doesn't really help but I would go with what your gut tells you! Best of luck!!

I am a current first-year at VCU, so I am pretty biased in saying that VCU would be the better option. I did decide between VCU and Radford last year, and am very glad that I chose VCU. I can't say enough good things about the program, the professors, and the medical campus here at VCU. If you have any specific questions, please let me know!

Hi! Thank you for replying! I am having a super tough decision. It's nice to hear from someone in the same situation!

Hi! Thanks for replying! Can I ask you why you chose VCU? I know they are one of the top programs in the country, but I didn't know if you had other reasons for choosing VCU. Please let me know! 🙂

Affordability, but Radford is also pretty reasonably priced. That being said, I think the education at VCU is at higher quality just because they have been around for a lot longer. Because of this, they have many clinical sites across the country, have world renowned PTs on faculty (just search some of their names and you will see), and Richmond just has so much to offer as a student and as a resident. I can't say enough good things about VCU and I know that I am getting a great education!

Yeah, they both are much cheaper than most of the other schools in a Virginia! I know that it's because they're public, while all others (except ODU) are private. Do you think there are any negatives about VCU? If you don't mind me asking.

The only negative I saw coming into the program was being in the basement, BUT it's actually pretty homey down there and makes the department seem like it's own little entity in Richmond since everything is down there. Other than that, can't really think of any specific negatives. There are some things about classes that I wish were changed, but you will find that at any program

Oh okay, aswesome! Yeah, I thought the fact the program was in the basement was a little off-putting. Thanks for your response!!
