VCU secondary!

ARGH. I submitted my secondary and thought I was complete at VCU in the second week of August...until I just realized today that they require a handwritten essay to be mailed in separately!! I am out-of-state...am I screwed?

If not, they ask that we write on anything but what was stated in the AMCAS PS...any guidelines as to what to write about?

the handwritten essay can be on any topic you want, limit of 200 words - no other guidelines, no other limits. good luck!

I received the secondary online on August 7th...I haven't done the handwritten essay yet (probably get it out by tomorrow)...is it too late? Please answer!!

by the way, I DID do the online supplemental like 4 weeks ago, as well as submit the application fee. All that's missing is this handwritten essay.

You should call the office and explain your situation. They had a deadline (either 3 weeks or a month since the time of the secondary invite).

Get the essay in ASAP!! You might want to call and explain your situation. I am instate, and the supplemental application, handwritten essay and instate tuition forms had to be in by the deadline.

By the way, what deadline was that? The January 3rd one or something? I just talked to someone else who said there wasn't a deadline for the handwritten essay. Any thoughts or knowledge?

From the instructions page on VCU's website:

There is a two-week deadline for completion of the online supplemental application. When you have completed the online application, please have your letters of recommendation sent to us.

And then somewhere else it says that there is a one month deadline for all supporting documents, including the handwritten essay, I believe. Best bet: call them tomorrow.
