VCU Update?

I just NOW received an update on my AADSAS application status page by VCU saying "Received/Application Complete." Should I be expecting to hear someting from them anytime soon?

The status changed to the same as yours for me as well. But I received an email that my application was complete quiet a few days back. Don't know what to make of it. It might just be that they just got around to it just now.

I got the same thing on AADSAS. Hopefully it means that somethings in the mail for us!

Both VCU & UIC updated my status today (finally). So what order does VCU do things? Is it supp app then possible interview invite or do you only get the supp app after an interview offer?

I think they do invites first and then supp app.

My AADSAS updated today too. It says "Invited for interview," since I got an interview 2 weeks ago. I think VCU just updated AADSAS for all applicants. So if you got an interview already, it will say so, and if you're still waiting, then it'll say "recieved/complete." Before today, it was blank for me.

I got my interview by snail mail, and then made an appointment over the phone. Once your appointment is made, they send you an easy supplemental application to bring to your interview.

I think VCU's update status is a little inaccurate or delayed. Mine updated today to say "received/under review" but I received an interview invite by mail this past saturday.

It almost makes me think rejection because, 1)application is complete and they like me = AADSAS update says "Invited for Interview. Or 2)application is complete and they don't like me = AADSAS updated says "Received/Application Complete" -and there's no way your invited for an interview, you're just "complete." Is this a bad assumption or am I just paranoid?

Well, in my case my file really wasn't complete due to a missing LOR. I had it sent last week so they must have received it, thus, making my app complete and now under review.

You'll all soon realize how worthless AADSAS is. Hardly any schools use the AADSAS "Status" page, and when they do it isn't used as replacement for contacting you directly. So don't read too much into whats on that page.

Mine says "Received/Under Review" but I havnt received an interview invite.

A little off-topic but regardless, it's still about VCU. I saw Dr. Healy today when he came to my school and he said so far he's received 1901 applications, he'll only send out 270 interview invites and the avg DAT score has been about 20. He's also seen a lot of perfect DAT scores on specific sections (like Math), highest PAT score he's seen is 26. First group of interview is on Sept 17th. He also said that just the other day, he saw an applicant with a 4.03 GPA but decided not to give him an interview and said he was not competitive enough - the applicant only took the minimum science requirements and didn't take any additional science classes.

Good info, thanks! The stat about the Ave. DAT score stinks though because I can bet that out of 1900 some odd applicants, there are AT LEAST 270 predent's with a 20AA or above. I hope they look at other things a lot because I only got a 19AA.

Ditto. Mine was updated earlier this week. We'll just have to wait and see. 🙂

They must be looking at stats other than AA because I got an interview invite to VCU about a week ago and I only have a 19AA and a 3.6GPA. There is hope!! I am an in-state applicant though.
