any vcu applicants.Does anyone have anything to say about this school.

I'm applying there, and if i get in i'll probably go there (had my interview last weekend)........the mcv campus is not in the crime-y part of richmond so thats fine, i was really impressed at the interview with the enthusiasm of the people there and their talks of outside-class life. soo yeah. thumbs up in my book

I don't think VCU gets enough attention here... I think it's an excellent school with a variety of opportunities. With PharmD/PhD, PharmD/MS, PharmD/MBA, and PharmD/MPH, you can go several directions if you're considering dual degree. They have a lot of research going on, and rank 21st according to the latest US Weekly rating (2005 I think) of pharmacy schools. The only complaint I'd have about the school is the campus. The MCV campus feels like just... a bunch of buildings. But, that shouldn't really be a deciding factor. And like UVAwahoo said, it's not really a crime-ridden area as other parts of Richmond can be..

Richmond can be a fun town. The Slip is just a few blocks away from the school. VCU has one of the winingest (sp) basketball teams in the state for the last 4 years. Bands are all around town. Theather is available from VCU as well as the city. Richmond has a symphony. Numerous parks. Walk up Monument during Christmas time or during the Easter parade. The West End has really grown up in the last 10 years.

The university has about 28K students... medical and academic campuses. The medical campus has med, dental, and pharm programs. Also one of the top Med chem graduate programs. As well as a very serious graduate (Ph.D.) program in many fields.

Richmond takes time to grow on you but I think that after a year you will end up enjoying your time at VCU.

VCU graduate, BS, MS.
