Venting my frustration

I just called UCSF to find out why my application status hasn't changed to complete (my secondary was received December 4), and apparently, my premed dean NEVER SENT THEM MY LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION!!! And the lady on the phone was like, "If you every checked your status page, you would have noticed that you weren't complete. You should have called weeks ago." I check the status page EVERY DAY!! It says on the bottom of the page, "Please (refrain from calling the Admissions Office) allow four weeks for your secondary application to be processed and letters of recommendation connected. If your file is not complete within four to six weeks, we will notify you of the material (letters of rec., fee, etc.) currently missing from your application."
I was following the instructions and trying not to bother them, and I got f*cked!!!!!!

I am really sorry boardchic!!! That is awful!!!!! 👎 Did you ask the lady if it was too late to bother or if you should have them re-sent? Again, I'm really sorry!

She said to have them resent, but she doesn't know how long it will take for my application to be reviewed. To make matters worse, UCSF is my top choice school! Thanks for the sympathy. 🙁

That's terrible! I hope they send your letters out quickly and apologize profusely....man, i hate premed committees.

For UCSF, maybe you should also send them a letter of intent/update. I normally wouldn't think of sending one pre-interview but since its so delayed, i'd want to do everything I could to stand apart and get their attention.

Yeah, they got sent but were received only a week before the deadline. Otherwise I would have been complete in September.

Wow, boardchic, I'm so sorry, that totally sucks! You did follow the rules. Will they expedite the process at all for you?
