How long does it take to get a secondary? Everyone's talking about it...and I want to join the club.

Also schools don't always download your app as soon as they receive it...some schools only download new apps once a week.

If you haven't gotten anything by mid-July I would be a little concerned though.

No don't do anything about it unless you hit August and the school-specific threads are 10+ pages long or something (ie - people verified weeks after you are getting secondaries but you aren't)....just have all your secondaries ready to be copy-pasted and sent as soon as the secondaries arrive.

I don't know that I'd wait until August necessarily, but some waiting is prudent before freaking out. The school-specific threads will give you a better indication of what to expect, and if you really must know, you can always email the admissions office and ask politely.

Also like a previous poster said it totally depends on your school list as well as your numbers and if they screen. I'm assuming you don't have a 2.1 GPA and 14 MCAT (would get you screened out of a lot of schools). Also if you happened to only apply to 10 schools who haven't even sent out secondaries yet don't worry about it. Also keep in mind that the same school sends out secondaries at different times. I was verified very early June but only recently received a secondary from UC-Davis while people had received it several days before I did.

Why wouldn't you? You were worried that you didn't receive them immediately, and now that you got them, you want to wait? What!? Just do em.

Submit them. Always get things in asap. Reflects well on you, and it may take time for the school to process your app.

Some secondaries require you to at least identify your letter writers prior to submission; but you can submit your secondary even if the school has not received your letters yet.

That is the when the bulky secondaries (not the ones where they ask you to list your name and various demographic details with no essays) start trickling in. The bulk come in mid-July.
