How do they do this? Do they call the person you shadowed/volunteered under?
Much of my volunteering wasn't even done in the United States, I don't know how they could really verify work I did in another country...I mean, I have pictures, but as far as getting in contact with these people, it could be difficult.
Several schools have called the dental office that I work in to verify the hours and duties that I detailed in my application. The dentist I work for wrote me a lor so it was easy for them to get the number and call.

Wow. I would have thought with the number of applicants these days, schools wouldn't have the time to verify. Makes me wonder about the volunteer/shadowing hours I listed, I didn't lie but I did make estimates because some of it was so long ago.

I suppose it is more likely that they would call one of the places you claimed to shadow at right before they send an acceptance letter. Will they attempt to track down dentists from around the world to verify your application though...doubtful
