Took the DAT a couple weeks ago and here's my breakdown:

PAT: 21
QR: 21
RC: 18 (ouch!)
Bio: 22
GC: 21
OC: 27
TS: 23 (98%)
AA: 22 (95%)

SO, I was very satisfied with my scores, except for RC, but I'm still fine with an 18. My 2 biggest suggestions for those who haven't taken it...RC and QR are much harder than any practice test I ever took...I was averaging 21/22 on RC and 23/24 on QR on Kaplan and DAT Achiever but then got destroyed on the real test. My QR had like 7 Trig questions on it, and I didn't really even study trig for this test (I answered them using high school knowledge). And RC was just ridiculous (I had 2 random passages and one scientific one, and their questions were WAY harder than the practice tests). I really don't know any good strategies for RC, but my best suggestion for QR is to skip word problems and come back to them after you've answered everything else. MAKE SURE TO SKIP MATH QUESTIONS. Get used to it during practice tests. As for PAT, Kaplan (good), DAT Achiever (too hard except for angle ranking), and Crack Dat Pat (great for pattern folding and hole punching). Sciences: Cliffs AP 2nd Edition and Kaplan (book and classes) as well as Campell's Biology Text Book for reinforcement. All practice tests make the sciences harder than the actual exam.

I'm grateful for my scores, especially since it was my first attempt. And I'm a UC Berkeley Graduate (major: Molecualr and Cell Biology with an emphasis in Neurobiology) with an overall GPA of 3.92 and science GPA of 3.90. My number one choice is UCLA Dental, but Harvard also sounds amazing, however, I don't know if I could get in. Are my stats good enough? Does anyone know if I'm competitive for Harvard?

Good Luck to all!

Nice, I think that you definitely have a chance at both UCLA and Harvard, depending on your extracurricular activities and such

wanted to congratulate you on such great scores.

UCLA and harvard love a good stat, I think you're pretty competitive and like what ohmagic says it depends on your extracurriculars

They both love research, if you have the experience it'll be a added PLUS. however it won't bar you if you don't.

awesome scores, good grades, solid education--> makes for a prime candidate

You have a great chance at Harvard and UCLA. Your gpa AND DAT are both high. Set up a predents.com account if you want.
