In the past I've always had a one-page resume that I've used to apply for summer jobs, etc. Speaking with classmates and upperclassmen who are starting to apply for post-graduation jobs, I would like to make a start on a more professional CV-type thing. My dad does a lot of IT industry/business HR and when I asked for his help he thought that medical professional CV's were fairly different. I googled "veterinary curriculum vitae" and found the KSU site which was quite good. Are there any other resources people have found helpful when compiling a CV, or good examples available on the internet? I am Canadian, but as far as I know this is pretty standard throughout Canada and the US. Also I am a vet student who has followed a fairly traditional route thus far (i.e. my professional 'experience' consists of vet assistant, summer camp counselor, groom, and riding instructor, haha). I do have some research assistant type of experience though I wasn't technically paid for most of it, if that matters?

Thanks for your help!

We had a whole day session today on contracts, job searching etc., and our speaker said that a resume was appropriate for applying for jobs (1-2 pages max) and that CVs were really only appropriate for applying for residencies at this point. Most colleges should have a career center on campus that can help you with your resume - if you show up with a rough draft they should be able to make it more polished. Hope this helps.

ill look at it for you. remember, a CV is a LIST of involvement and accomplishments. you dont give action works like "prepared this, facilitated that"
