So I do some work with a local refugee resettlement agency as a medical advisor and a situation came up recently that I thought this board might be able to help me out with. One of the case managers has family back in an unstable country in the global south who is in need of dialysis, but is having problems obtaining this consistently. The case manager wants to explore the feasibility of buying supplies for dialysis in the states to send back home and would love to talk to a nephrologist about the options that exist if any for doing dialysis for the patient at home. Are any of the nephrologists on this board willing to offer general advice?
Feel free to PM me direct if you prefer. I am trying to be vague about exactly which country in public postings but am happy to disclose more details if you are potentially open to speaking to the person in question. They recognize that no one is taking responsibility for his relative and is looking more to understand what can even be done and the universe of possibilities.
Thanks for any input y'all can offer.
