Hey guys,

I am a junior at my Univeristy and have looked at a view dental schools in the state. I've contacted some admissions over e-mail and was able to set up an appointment this week with NYU. I will just go in the admission office and have a talk with an advisor there. Now, my question is how I'd have to represent myself? I will dress nicely, but what types of questions should I asked and what should I be aware off? Should I take my transcripts with me?
If anyone is a student or alumni there please let me know. I would like to take you out to dinner and ask you several questions 😀

thanks for your help

Look nice but don't over do it. Dress up shirt and parts are fine (tie not necessary).

I would take my transcripts with me along with a summary of all activities you've been involved with (Volunteering, ECs, shadowing, and DAT score ~ if available)

The #1 question will be "Am I competitive enough for your school and if not, what else would you like to see?"

Okay, I am involved in the Biology Club, I am playing for the Univeristy's Soccer team. I have shadowed an office in Kansas City as well as an office in Munich, Germany (that's where I am from). Have done Volunteering Service w/ Soccer & my church group.
Should I print all this info on a paper and hand it over? I will be shadowing and volunteering all summer so a lot more will be added to it by next year.

thanks

Write a "resume" that includes all of that.

ok thanks, I've written several resumes but never know which one i should go with. In addition, I've been doing community service since 2005-Present. But, some of these volunteering have been over 5 years ago. What is the cut off point for dental school considering volunteering? Should I list the stuff I have done 2008-Present or less or before that?

Don't write them like an essay... just bullet-points of your shadowing, ECs, and volunteering...

The admission is not goingto judge me on the form of my "resume" I quickly came up with right? lol
