Here are my vitals:
GPA: 3.5
Science GPA: 3.1
MCAT avg: 7.3

I applied to one DO school before; got rejected. I've been working for a year now in clinical research for a major pharm. company. I know I should take the MCAT again, how about some advice I don't already know.?.? Thanks.

I would say that you MUST retake the MCAT, not should. You should also take some more science courses to boost your science GPA since it's on the low side. Remember, it doesn't matter how outstanding your extracurriculars are if you have poor stats. Schools often use GPAs and MCATs to screen people out so if those aren't satisfactory, you won't get a second look and definately no interview.

Your science GPA is on the low side, as justwanna pointed out, and you can take extra science classes to beef it up or you can raise your MCAT score, which would serve the same purpose.

Why did you only apply to one DO school in a country of nineteen?

Your best bet would be to raise your MCAT (hit high 20s/low 30s) and apply to more than one DO school.

It takes quite a few hours to up a GPA, do the math.

Your #s are competitive for LECOM and I know many students have been accepted to Des Moines with similar #s.

Re-apply.

I suggest you to take postbacc courses and retake the MCAT. Your science and MCAT score are not as strong and competitive.

Try hard and stay in the game. It is not a easy road but many of us have gone through it.

Good luck

Your numbers are not competetive for Oucom
MCAT 9's. But there is a post bac program here that might be an avenue you could approach.
