Did anyone else get an email from VMCA's with the subject "Special Notice"? I just got one today, but I can't open it! I was just wondering what it was about and if it was a mass email or not. Thanks everyone!

Greetings,

Due to the fast approaching VMCAS application deadline, Monday, October 1st 11:59 pm ET, VMCAS phone and email support will be available this Saturday, September 22, 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm ET

The VMCAS Web application is experiencing an inordinately high volume of applicant activity. To boost the load capacity of the application, the application system will automatically shut down at the top of every hour for 15 minutes, from 1pm to midnight. Applicants should not be logged into the application during the hourly shut downs. Just prior to the top of the hour, applicants should save all application work, and log out of the system. Applicants should complete the personal statement in a word processing system, and cut and paste the statement into the application.

Applicant activity is expected to increase, as the October 1 deadline approaches. Applicants should complete and submit applications to VMCAS as soon as possible to avoid slow system response times.

Thanks,

VMCAS

Geez, that sounds like fun...maint. at the top of the hour, every hour, for 15min!?. Could they make the application process anymore of a pain for you guys this year?

Good luck to those still trying to submit their applications!!! :luck:

Last year I didn't remember them having this many problems. I looked at the email anyway. I find it interesting that they didn't blind carbon copy the emails. I thought it was kind of unprofessional to show all those email addresses to other applicants. I perosnally don't care too much, but I did think it wasn't the right move.

Here comes more spam in the inbox if the amil list gets out...

below or contrary to the standards expected in a particular profession.

i cannot believe it either.

i'm glad i asked...darn vmcas. oh man, i better suck it up and submit soon.

huh, i couldn't see who the email was to, not even myself.... wierd. maybe i just have super email! or im technically inept (probably the latter! 😉)

Wow, I can see all the emails too....that's crazy!

Did anyone count them? Hah, not that anyone has THAT much free time on their hands......

I took the cc: list, copy and pasted it into Excel...
and I got exactly 1000 email addresses. I can't believe that there are exactly 1000 applicants, so the email I got must have gone out to a subsection of applicants.

There's probably a 1000 limit on their email system. Must have sent out multiple emails. Either that or it looks like there are enough spots for everyone this year! Yeah, right.
