Hey-as promised, the info on the test application for 2012 is below.
"Greetings,
Its that time of year again to test the functionality of the VMCAS application. Testing the application is easy and fun and the exercise will be extremely helpful for those that plan to submit an application to VMCAS in the future.
If you would like to participate in testing this year, then please follow these simple instructions. Make sure to read all the instructions on this page prior to beginning your test application:
1. Use the following link to access the application.
https://portal.vmcas.org/applicants12/index.cgi
Network logon information:
Username: vmcas2012
Password: Sa3R9sugupef (CASE sensitive)
2. Create a new account. (You must do this even if you have used VMCAS before.)
3. Proceed with completing the application.
4. Review the Help Text for each section of the application.
5. When you are ready to "submit" your application, email: [email protected] with "SUBMIT TEST APP" in the subject line. Include your name and VMCAS ID in the email. This will prompt VMCAS to activate the "pay by check/money order" function to allow you to submit your application. You will receive an email from VMCAS when this has been completed, and you may continue your submission process. DO NOT SELECT PAY BY CREDIT CARD, and PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY APPLICATION FEES!
6. Testing ends when the application is submitted.
This exercise could take up to several hours of your time; however, please note that the application can be completed in segments, allowing you to come in and out of the application as often as you wish. Be sure to save your work frequently. There are four critically important tips that we want you to use:
* DO NOT send application materials (application fees, evaluations, etc.). This is only a test!
* The TEST Application CANNOT be used for the coming application cycle--another application must be completed during the application cycle. However, please print a copy your application to assist you during the VMCAS cycle
* DO NOT register real evaluators for your test application, as it will confuse them when it is actually time for them to complete your evaluation.
* If you DO NOT receive a WELCOME TO VMCAS email, then you may need to check your spam/bulk mail folders to find emails.
Put on your creative hat---during the testing process, aim to BREAK the system.
We must receive your feedback by COB Wednesday, April 27, 2011. Testing feedback should be emailed to Constance McCarney at [email protected] (place: TESTING FEEDBACK in the subject line). Your email to Constance should include your contact information.
