I have been unable to find information on how much it is going to cost me to submit applications. I am applying to three schools this fall, can anyone give me a rough estimate?

although i think you were just looking for VMCAS fees, i'd just like to throw out a general reminder to not forget the costs of sending transcripts, GRE scores and supplemental apps when applying 🙂

all in all you're probably looking at closer to $400-$500 (less if you're lucky)

And if you haven't yet taken the GRE's, try to include the schools where you're applying on the score report on the actual day of the exam. That will save you $22/school for sending after the fact.

Thanks for the information, I could not find it anywhere I searched.

Hopefully I will get lucky and it wont cost any more than your estimates, I just want to make sure I have the money on hand.

... and (cause you knew it had to get worse) some schools have an additional processing fee on top of the VMCAS fee. (Just in case you hadn't considered that as well.) I think my school's cost was $80 or something?

Here's this year's chart:

Anyone know if there's a histogram out there from VMCAS showing the breakdown of how many schools applicants apply to?

That would be really interesting to see! I'm going to keep a look-out for one.

For the past three years, VMCAS applicants apply to an average of 3.8 schools. Hope that answers your question. 🙂

Interesting, thx VMCAS. I have to admit to being a bit surprised; I would have guessed it to be lower (closer to 3).

Also don't forget that if you have interviews at the end of the process (and let's hope you do!!!!!) there's additional costs associated with travelling to the interview etc. All in all, applying to vet school was more expensive than I had barginned for (but obviously worth it....). Just make sure you have some money available.
