So i have a question reguarding that 600 word ps. I have talked to the admissions counselors at both UGA and UPenn and turns out that want totally different essays, but you have to apply to both via the VMCAS.

UGA wants you to clearly answer tha following questions:
When did you become intrested in veterinary medicine?
What steps have you taken to further yourself along the path?
What area of veterinary medince are you intrested in and why?
And what can you offer to the profession?

UPenn wants to know about you specifically and veterinary medicine (not the journey). So like illustrated through a specific challenging case or experience the encompasses the veterinary profession for you. They want to see that you have had enough vet expereince that you have seen the good, the bad, adn the ugly... and still want to be a vet.

Any suggestions on how to reconcile these two different essays requirements into the 600 word limit? any help will be greatly appreciated...

Maybe considering writing about a case that has interested you (maybe inspired you to explore that route of vet med). I think that would meet Penns criteria. The how you decided you wanted to be a vet and what you can offer for the UGA app. seems similar to Penn's 'tell us about you'. If you really think about it, the two essays are that different. Penn's just seems a little more specific (UGA is more general) so I guess I would write it as if it was just for Penn 1st and then tweek it if need be so it meets both.

Not sure if any of that makes sense (it does in my head, but on paper is another story 😛 )
