Just want to be sure I'm doing this right...

the instructions for the course work section are "Enter the title of the course exactly as it appears on your transcript." So if the names are abbreviated on my transcript, like my 'Special Topics in Biochemistry: Nutrition' class is written as 'Spec Top in Biochem: Nutrition', I would write in the abbreviated name from my transcript, not the full name of the course?

Another QQ...

I'm not really sure how to enter my labs. The way they are listed on my transcript is that the grade/credit from the lab is factored into the grade/credit from the lecture portion so, for example, gen bio I would list a combined grade for both the class+lab, along with being listed as 4 credits (1 credit coming from the lab). Then, the lab is listed as 'Gen biology I Lab" and is assigned 0 credits and either given a grade of LB (lab) or P (pass?) depending on what class it is (the chemistry department does it different from the bio department). So... if that was comprehensible, what should I put for the 'grade' portion? ... No grade, pass-pass/fail, etc.?

For question number 1: I would enter it abbreviated. Uusally the entire name doesn't fit in the box anyway, plus it says to enter it EXACTLY as it appears on your transcript. I feel like that's kind of straight forward.

Question 2: If I remember correctly, I entered the lecture as 4 credits and then entered the lab as no grade. Maybe someone else remembers more clearly.

👍 on both. I suspect that behind the scenes what's happening is that some schools take the info off VMCAS to check pre-reqs, calculate GPAs, etc. Then they just use the transcripts to verify that what you put in is correct. So they probably want the 'exact' name just to be able to match them up. (Other schools may ignore VMCAS's academic info and just go off your transcripts alone.)

Jables11, here an example of how my classes looked after being entered in VMCAS. I presume this is just how they were listed on my transcript (I don't remember).

Course Level Pre-Req Code Credits Grade VMCAS Grade
BIOL 341 - Genetics Upper-division (Jr/Sr) Genetics, Not Applicable 4.00 A A
BIOL 341L - Genetics Lab Upper-division (Jr/Sr) Genetics, Not Applicable 0.00 P None

If it's split out on your transcript, I'd split it out in VMCAS. If not, then just do one VMCAS entry. I see that some of my earlier classes that had labs don't have separate class/lab entries. Basically, just mimic your transcript as best you can.
