So I'm filling out my experience section and I can't decide how to proceed. I work at a Zoo and I've gotten the chance to watch our veterinary staff do physicals on our Kangaroos. Would you add this as veterinary experience because its a little different than my normal stuff at the zoo. I wasn't directly working with the veterinarian but it's been hard to work directly with them, I was there watching the roos recover, see them get darted, and processed, this included ophthalmic exams. Any opinions how to put this down?

If I was in this situation (which it is a great one to be in!) I would place it under both. The hours that you spent with the veterinarian even if it was just watching I would place under vet experience. The rest of the time if there was no direct contact with the doctor or the doctors staff... ie. handlers, etc. I would place under animal experience. The vet experience is more important though, so I would put as many hours as you can with out stretching it in the vet experience section.

I was going to put all the zoo keeping experience under my animal experience section it was just the few times that I have been able to observe the vets that I was wondering about. Thanks for your advice.

I had a similar experience to yours, and did what mdnghtdnc suggested when I applied last year. Those hours absolutely count under veterinary (but obviously not your entire zoo experience).
