I was wondering, what are blades, flutes, and cross cuts on a bur?
My friend told me that there are 6 blades on a bur (usually), and that there are higher number of flutes on finishing burs, and that cross cuts are the notches at the edge of the blade that increase the effectiveness of cutting.
However, I don't know what any of these terms mean or how to locate them on an actual bur. Could someone please provide me an explanation and visual aid / picture diagram of these three things.
