Hello everybody,
as I mentioned earlier in another thread that English is my second language and I have been here in the US for a short period of time. I worked really hard to improve it but there's no way I think ......
I took most of AAMC practice tests... My PS and BS were between 10 (Lowest) and 14 (Highest) ... However my VR was too low (between 4 and 7) and it is getting lower with more practice (Not Kidding) ....
I am signed up for July 6th test and I think that there's no chance for me.... I took my AAMC 10 today and I scored 5 on verbal ..... I feel really upset and wasted my summer for nothing.... I don't want to study anymore 🙁

So my question is ... is it better to void the exam ??

you won't know until you actually take the test and get it scored. you might score an 8 or a 9.

Also, by the sounds of it, you're burning out. Slow down for a day or two. Then go back to verbal. Are you having trouble with timing? If so, then work on that. If it's comprehension issues, well that could take a little longer to remedy.

Are adcoms more forgiving for lower VR scores (8/9) if english is your second language??

I know that University of Washington takes English as Second Language into account when assessing the verbal score. They mentioned it in their med school application webinar.

AAMC avg means a lot, at least it did for me. Most likely, if things go well, you will hit the highest practice score on each of the sections. I think if you stay positive you can hit a 7. I scored a 7 on my actual verbal and ranged from 5-8 but usually hit a 7 on practices.

hey man i'm scheduled for this wednesday (7/6) too any i'm coming across the same problem as you. I'm getting consistent 10+'s in sciences but my verbal i'm fluctuating from 6-9.. and AAMC10 i got a 4. i wanted to cry.

just keep working at it, both timing and stamina and just pull off a 7+ and we'll be fine and hopefully won't get screened 😛.

goodluck.

Thanks guys for the replies. .... One Day left !!!
SO scared and stressed .... that's all what I feel right now... I think I am not going to Void unless something happens to me on test day .... The verbal is still freaking me out.... And I think that 7 on VR would be great for me even though it will hurt me alot ... I just hope that there will be minimal Humanities Passages since I don't get the point of their authors !!
So much pressure !!!

Good luck everyone ... and Thanks for the replies ....
