Hey everyone,

I've never seen the dental application, but are we suppose to write how many hours you volunteered/shadowed or just that you volunteered at a particular place?

I start volunteering tomorrow and I need to know if I should keep a volunteer time log.

Thanks.

if youre volunteering at a hospital, theyll log your hours for you. i dont think any hospital uses manual check in/check out anymore.

for dentists, yes, keep a log. sometimes, your dentist will not keep one for you. you'll need it for schools like tufts, michigan and some others; they need atleast 30 hours of shadowing.

log your own volunteer hours ....just have to have a rough estimate but have people to verify them just in case

thanks for the quick responses....yea im volunteering as a dental assistant at a private dental office, but im gonna shadow another dentist. so basically i should keep a seperate time log for shadowing and for dental assisting right?

i would recommend u make a dummy account w/ AADSAS and just copy paste the whole application to word..then u'll have ALL the time u want to work on it..then when next may comes..all u gotta do is wait for the release of the 08' application and just copy paste ur well developed responses into the online application and send away... VERY not stresful at all..

that's what i did 🙄

Thats a really good idea, but dont you have to pay money to get an account?

nope

yes, i keep a log of the volunteering hours and the activities i did. it's alot easier than having to go back 2 years later in memory!
