Hi all,

I'm a california resident. However, in california, there is a law saying that unlicensed technician can't be in the pharmacy *according to most of the pharmacies that I have contacted*. So, is passing the pharm tech the only way to get pharm experiences?

Thank you

I am not sure either. But, from talking to several pharmacies in my area (Utah) they don't really want to let anyone that isn't certified back behind the counter.(I am sure for insurance reasons) I even applied at Walgreens-online, there site at least a few months back said they would pay to train. So I sent in an application, and called back about a week later to find out what they had decided on my application. They told me that they don't pay to train you have to be certified even though there site says specifically they will pay to train you.😡

Take a look it still says they will pay to train:

So, I am signed up and will be taking the pharmacy technician test in about two weeks. Go to the PCTB.org website if you want to find out more information about it. I figure it is best to get certified and then I can get paid more to work as a tech, then a trainy and should have no problem volunteering in different settings once you are certified as a tech.😀

just my two cents,

Michael
