Just for a little bit of background: I'm a high school senior but I'm a concurrent student attending a college because I've already completed the classes required.

I have close to 1000 hours of volunteer work already throughout my high school life. I work 40 hours a week and have been working at my job for two year, I can spare a pretty good amount of time but not an absolute ton. I've contacted a few research labs and may be able to join a few of their labs which will help with publications. I haven't gotten many responses from hospitals I've emailed in an attempt to get involved and get some shadowing under my belt. Any advice as to which to pursue?

What was in high school stays there, you will need new recent activities from college unless you apply BS/MD (I am not an expert in it). I personally wold stick to volunteering.

I think if a bulk of those hours at one organization, and you continue volunteering there through college, you can keep it on your app. I’d say clinical experience > research because the main thing about being a doctor is clinical experience
