Hi all,

First post and I am hopefully not repeating anything that has been discussed before. I am a volunteer firefighter and work at a hospital with direct patient care and contact. My question is would the 3+ years of firefighting be quality volunteer work on its own or should I volunteer at a hospital or clinic? Also, I am not EMT certified. Though we respond to medical calls and are needed on many occasions obviously. Thanks in advance.

personally, I think your solid since you work at a hospital and have patient contact. With the firefighting you have a unique volunteering EC. Let's hear what other people think.

To me that is solid EC work and I'd look very highly upon it. Count it as "volunteer patient contact experience"...not all of which has to be in a hospital.
