I am planning to submit my application shortly following the opening of the app portal (June 1st). I have a unique volunteer opportunity that I want to complete towards the end of June, but would like d-schools to see it as it would be an interesting talking point. However, I do not want to wait to submit my application until then... Is it possible to include the volunteer experience on the application before I complete it, or can I go back and edit the application later on? If all else fails, I'm assuming I can just send an email out to each school updating them.

Some schools don't accept anything outside of AADSAS so just be aware of that.

There's a "Planned Activities" section on AADSAS. You may then update the school with the volunteering during your interview or post academic update in November.

Beautiful, thank you!!

There is no planned activities section on AADSAS. If you want to put it on then wait until you start then submit. Some schools wont like you putting down future things because they may not pan out, some have started do not do that. I have been a student interviewer and I can tell you that it will make people skeptical of your application.

Academic update is only for grades not for EC's. You can email schools post submitting with the info. I really do think you should wait until you start. And the amount of time you will begin to spend at is not going to influence admissions. Experiences over a long duration impress adcoms to an extent, but of course GPA and DAT scores rule!

you cannot add volunteering opportunity for the future same as shadowing hours. If you really want to include it in your application then just wait, applying in July is still considered early. Or just submit your application and talk about volunteering when you go for interviews.
