i wanna start volunteering now and already enrolled in the class where it will show on your transcript that you have volunteered, but i haven't gotten any position to volunteer yet. i called a bunch of dental offices, but all they do is ask for my name and number and that they'll call me back...but they never actually call back?
what to do?🙁

Try calling your local hospitals that have a dental clinic. That's what I did. Most hospitals will have a volunteer department and someone there will explain to you how to go about getting a position

I noticed you are from Irvine. I don't know what year you are or whether or not you can get up to L.A., but if you could be in L.A. over the summer, UCLA Dental school has a great volunteer program for predents. You get to see how the dental school works and talk to and shadow a bunch of students. It's really a great opportunity. If you are a Junior, this summer would be perfect for that. You spend a specified number of hours in various departments at the school under a supervisor who then does a little write-up on you. In total, it's an 80 hour program and when it's done they interview you and will write you a letter of recommendation for dental school if you want. This is a great opportunity for anyone in the L.A. area actually, especially if you are interested in UCLA. Hope this helps everyone!

thanx, that was great advice, but the problem is that i don't have access to a car and it's hard enough to get around irvine due to our messed up bus system. a few of the dental offices are pretty close to me, but the hospitals and dental clinics are a drive away.
